Can the stone curtain wall system accommodate thermal expansion and contraction without cracking?

Update Time:2026/8/20

Yes. Thermal management is built into the core of FOWALL's Dry Hanging System. By decoupling the stone panels from the primary building structure, we manage expansion through:

  • Expansion Joints: Precision-engineered gaps between panels (typically 6mm-10mm) filled with high-elasticity silicone sealant.
  • Slotted Support Rails: The aluminum or stainless steel sub-frames feature slotted holes that allow for millimetric movement during extreme temperature fluctuations.
  • Material Compatibility: We select stones with low thermal expansion coefficients (like high-density Granite) for projects in extreme climates.
